Built for applications where maximum output and exceptionally long runtime matter, this professional 18V 8.0 Ah lithium-ion battery introduces Festool’s advanced Tabless cell technology to the high-capacity end of the 18V system. Instead of transferring current through only a few conventional cell tabs, the Tabless design uses numerous parallel contact points. This dramatically improves the flow of energy through the cells, reduces electrical resistance and limits heat generation under heavy load. The result is a battery pack capable of delivering impressive power for energy-hungry saws, grinders and other heavy-duty Festool machines while maintaining performance for longer. Reduced heat generation also means less waiting before charging, slower battery ageing and excellent reliability across both hot and cold working conditions. Combine the BP 18 TBX 8 ASI with the AIRSTREAM SCA 16 rapid charger and it can be ready for action again in as little as approximately 25 minutes. Integrated Bluetooth® adds another layer of convenience by automatically starting a paired Bluetooth®-enabled Festool CLEANTEC extractor when the cordless tool is switched on, while connection to the Festool app provides detailed battery information including charge level, temperature and charging cycles.
TBX identifies Festool’s latest generation of high-performance Tabless battery packs. Conventional lithium-ion cells transfer current through individual tabs attached to the positive and negative poles. Tabless cells instead provide numerous parallel contact points, creating a much broader and more efficient path for electrical current. Lower internal resistance means less wasted energy is converted into heat, allowing the battery to deliver more power, sustain demanding loads for longer and return to the charger sooner.
