Compact, beautifully balanced and built for precision finishing, the Festool RTS 400 REQ-Plus RUTSCHER is a professional rectangular orbital sander that really comes into its own on narrow surfaces, vertical work, overhead sanding and jobs close to edges. Its powerful 250 W motor combines with Festool MMC control electronics to deliver fast material removal while maintaining the selected speed under load, giving you consistent sanding performance across a wide range of materials. The rectangular 80 x 130 mm sanding pad makes the RTS 400 particularly useful for window frames, doors, furniture components, rails, stiles and other areas where a round sander simply cannot reach effectively. Dust can be collected directly into the durable reusable Longlife bag or extracted through a compatible Festool CLEANTEC mobile dust extractor. The attachable PROTECTOR shields both the sanding pad and adjacent surfaces when working close to edges, helping to reduce accidental marking and subsequent rework. This Plus version also includes the clever LM-RTS light module, providing targeted LED illumination across the sanding surface so scratches, unevenness and imperfections are easier to identify before the job is finished. Supplied neatly organised in a Systainer³ SYS3 M 187, the RTS 400 REQ-Plus is a superb finishing sander for professional painters, decorators, cabinetmakers, joiners and furniture workshops.
The RTS 400 is designed around comfortable one-handed operation. Its compact body, carefully balanced weight distribution, ergonomic SoftGrip surfaces and rectangular sanding pad make it exceptionally controllable on vertical surfaces and when working above shoulder height. The 2 mm sanding stroke is ideally suited to controlled intermediate and finish sanding, while the variable electronic speed allows performance to be matched to the abrasive, coating and workpiece material.
